ADDITIONAL OUTREACH INITIATIVES
The following is a summary of additional outreach Initiatives for the two year period October 1, 2006-September 30, 2008 (These Initiatives are in addition to the Stations’ recruiting for job openings).
• Participation in JOB FAIRS by Station Personnel Who Have Substantial Responsibility in Making Hiring Decisions: Management with hiring responsibility participated in the following four job fairs during the two year period. .
· Lane County Youth Career Fair at Lane County Fairgrounds February 13, 2007 KKNU Program Director Jim Davis, KEUG/KMGE Program Director Jeff Baird, Promotions Director Josh Kelly, and Sales Manager Dave Wiles participated.
· Career Fair at Thurston High School April 25, 2007 Promotions Director Josh Kelly attended.
· Career Fair at Springfield High School April 23, 2008 KKNU-FM Program Director Jim Davis attended
· Lane Community College Career Fair April 24, 2008

• INTERN PROGRAM Designed to AssistMembers of the Community to Acquire Skills Needed for Broadcast Employment. Two Internships during the October 1, 2006-September 30, 2008
This internship was started and completed in April 2007. The intern was a college
student.This internship was structured to provide quality experience in all areas
of MRB’s broadcasting operations, including sales, programming, commercial
production, and engineering, including discussions with management.
This internship was started and completed in May 2008. The intern was a high
school student active at high school radio station KRVM. This internship was
structured the same way as Internship #1.

ADDITIONAL OUTREACH INITIATIVES … Continued
• Participation in a SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Designed to Assist
Students Interested in Pursuing a Career in Broadcasting.
- Three Scholarships Awarded
MRB management participated actively in the award, during the October 1, 2006-
September 30, 2008 EEO reporting period, of three Eugene Area Radio Stations
(“EARS”) Scholarships. This involvement included a leadership role in
successfully advocating and planning for these scholarships.
1. Scholarship #1
A $1,000 scholarship was awarded during the summer of 2007 to a high school girl active in her high school radio station and with career goal in “the field of communications.” MRB management interviewed the scholarship applicants, including the winner.
2. Scholarships #2 and #3
Two $2,000 Scholarships were awarded during the summer of 2008, one to a
high school student and one to a college student.
